Juicy fruits are enjoyable. They are aromatic, tasty and very healthy. Unfortunately not all the fruits and berries are readily available throughout the year. Fruit mélanges come in as a convenient substitution.

Bright, warming in winter and refreshing in summer – fruit tea is a real treat for gourmets! It can be a good company in lonely nights or a medium to warm conversations with your beloved ones and friends.

Fruit teas invigorate, quench thirst, and give the body essential vitamins and minerals. They do not contain caffeine – and thus are good for those to whom caffeine is undesirable. This is an excellent alternative to fruit juices and compotes. It is very good for children.

Fruit tea is also loved by many due to its incredible aroma that helps to calm down and relax or to refresh and invigorate depending on the composition. For example, citrus peel improves the concentration, improves mood, and acts as an antidepressant. Raspberry and black currant creates a cozy atmosphere and gives a charge of energy.

Correctly chosen fruit tea is the perfect drink for children, the elderly, pregnant women and lactating mothers. It is rich in vitamins and minerals and other useful substances. It strengthens the immunity system.

Another wonderful property of fruit tea is that you can add various spices such as cinnamon, anise, ginger and cloves. They reveal flowery aromas, stimulate metabolism, and boost the immune system. Addition of Ginger is a perfect example.

Most of the fruits do not lose their qualities during process of drying thus drinking steeped fruit mélange you are getting all the benefits as you would eat several pieces of fresh fruits.

While taking in aroma and taste is an enjoyable experience itself, you are getting a load of vitamins C, B, E, P, H and minerals such as potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, iron etc.

It is noteworthy to mention the frequent guest in the composition of the fruit mixes – the hibiscus that is also known as karkade in the Middle East. The petals of the Sudanese roses (another name of carcade) release refreshing zesty taste and deep red color brew. It is a good thirst quencher and contributes to strengthening of the immunity.

It is assumed that the first fruit tea appeared in Egypt, when people brewed aromatic dried flowers of hibiscus. Then it was a rather flower tea, but as the practice and knowledge evolved hibiscus became one of the most popular basis of the fruit mixture.

To brew fruit mélange, you need to put appropriate number of servings (1 heaped teaspoon for each 150 ml cup) into boiled water and allow steeping for 8-10 minutes. With this minimal thermal impact fruits retain more nutrients, minerals, and healthy qualities that release maximum aroma and taste.

Unlike green and oolong teas fruit mélanges are steeped only once; second brew will yield nothing but pale, tasteless, thin bodied lukewarm water.
