Description
Sencha is the most widely drunk Japanese tea in Japan itself, and this is the real thing — grown, steamed, and rolled in Kagoshima using traditional Japanese sencha tea methods. Unlike Chinese green teas, which are typically pan-fired to stop oxidation, Japanese green tea like Sencha is steamed and tightly rolled immediately after harvest. That difference in processing is what gives authentic Japanese sencha tea its distinctive fresh, grassy character and deeper green colour compared to most Chinese-style greens.
The tea bushes used for this Sencha are grown under direct sunlight, which builds up the antioxidant content of the finished leaf. Brewed, it delivers a fresh-cut grass aroma with notes of steamed seaweed, a well-structured texture, and a smooth, rounded finish — light enough for everyday drinking, with enough depth to satisfy a more seasoned Japanese tea drinker.
